Comments Comments

With three months to go before the entry deadline, Maker of the Year awards presented by Carbatec is already showcasing over 110 examples of the finest woodwork created by contemporary makers in Australia today.

All entries are shown on our website, and literally hundreds of thousands of people have viewed their steady roll-out on our Instagram and Facebook pages. Entry to Maker of the Year awards is via our website – please note that standard entry pricing closes 22 August 2021.

In 2021, Maker of the Year awards carry a massive prize purse valued at over $20,000, including $8,400 in cash. There are awards for first and second category winners, in addition to the major award for our Overall Maker of the Year. With prizes offered by leading woodworking suppliers Carbatec, Felder Group Australia and Whittle Waxes, as well as a host of well known brands, this is truly an industry event without parallel in Australia – and arguably the world.

The spread of entries over the categories is fairly evenly distributed, with the most to date received for 'Tables, Chairs & Desks' and 'Chests, Cabinets & Shelving'. It’s exciting to see that our new World category has attracted entries from the US, UK, Netherlands, France, Canada and Belgium.

We hope you'll consider entering and look forward to sharing your work!
