VIDEO: Finished!
‘The art and science of wooden surfaces’ is the topic of 'FINISHED', a new series of in-depth videos produced by Shane Orion Wiechnik and Liz Duck-Chong.
Wood Review readers may remember articles written by Shane for the magazine in issue 109 (The Craft of Finishing) and (What I learnt making historic varnishes) in issue 110.
Shane is a furniture restorer/conservator living and working in Sydney, Australia. He studied the conservation of furniture and related objects at West Dean College in England and works with International Conservation Services and Renaissance Conservation. In recent years he has added to his knowledge by travelling overseas and working in the workshops of other experts as well as maintaining his own professional practice.
Liz Duck-Chong is a writer, ‘tree hugger’ and carpenter, and co-owner of Among the Trees, a reclaimed timber retailer in Sydney who also offer courses.
The first episode of FINISHED has just been released and focuses on the nature of the material itself: wood.
