Tasmanian woodcarver, Carol Russell is featured on the cover of the September issue (#120) of Australian Wood Review and also shares her insights on flat-plane carving in an article within.

Carol regularly teaches workshops in other states, however from September 15 to November 15, 2023 you have an opportunity to get up close and personal with an exhibition of her work at Wildly Abigail, 144 York Street, Launceston. Entitled "Little Things", the exhibition will focus on Carol's small carvings such as dogs, cats and fish as well as some hand carved treen.

Carol explores the notion that it’s the little things that matter, and that a small object can have great meaning for the viewer and capture emotion in its form. In her words: “It really is very often the little things that we hold dear to us, memories, mementos and the small gestures that speak volumes.”  Carol uses mainly Tasmanian timbers in her work and also includes the use of colour and texture.
