TESTED: Tooley Park FB scriber
Reviewed by Raf Nathan
The Tooley Park scriber is an unusual but ever so useful tool. Made from aluminium with steel fittings it has a large Delrin wheel that holds a pencil. The angle and extension of the pencil are locked in place with knurled thumbwheels.
When you build a chair from wood there is always the process where the base of the legs need to be levelled so your chair does not rock around. And that process is what this tool is designed for. Simply set the pencil in place and draw the reference lines around your chosen chair leg.
Used vertically you can scribe, for example, floor boards to a wall, or you can fit panels to shaped frames.
The tool is very well made and chairmakers will love it. For building work the simple scribing action is very useful.
