The challenge was to create a case that dissolved the line between form and function. These pieces had to meet all the regular requirements for domestic furniture while blurring the conventional structure and form. With a finished product that had the clean mid century presence but in a more forward looking design aesthetic. All the panels and tops are hand veneered to create a stable platform for the slat work which is mounted with hidden tenons in long dados, making everything stable and indexed. The final product was perfectly fit custom pieces that look comfortable in a modern home while bringing just a little extra to the space.
