Originally built in 2022, this chair frame made from European Beech is repurposed and transformed using upholstery. The upholstery for Waka is made from discarded rubber bicycle inner tubes sourced from local bike shops that would otherwise end up in landfills. The rubber tyres are broken down into strips using analogue tools and machines of my own invention and then hand-woven into a pliable and durable rope. The rope is wrapped and woven through the chair's timber frame.
