The sweeping curves of this chair are part of my ongoing exploration into my personal furniture style. It is a mix of simple clean lines found in the Japandi style and the fantastical art nouveau style associated with Tolkien elves. While the chair has a whimsical feel, it is specifically designed to be an every-chair. The angle of the back is upright enough to thrive at a dining table but reclined enough to be inviting as a simple place to sit and talk with friends or work at a desk. While the multiple arches and triangles of the base create light-weight, sturdy foundation, the long individual curves of the design allow the back to flex not only forward and back, but also twist to support the back as one shifts about. Similarly, the compound curve of the seat avoids any hotspots on the back of the knees while still providing a comfortable cradle in which to actually sit.
