Entertainment unit to suit a wide screen TV, whilst enclosing a Bose Lifestyle audio unit, amplifier and sub-woofer. The sub-woofer is contained behind the sliding panel and includes a separate leg allowing for direct transfer of sound through the floor. The sliding panel creates the open or closed view. Closed shows the Kumiko panels which provide interest, ventilation, and sound dispersion. The carved Kenyen Antelope, is partially hidden creating wonder. Drawer pulls are recessed to allow the sliding panel to move in front of the central drawer. The shape of the drawer pull complements the Kumiko form. The apparent vertical drawer in Wenge visually reduces the weight of the sliding panel. Three dimensional chamfers are on tops of the legs, and all drawer fronts. This unit is solid but allows for wood movement with all fixed panels with grain flowing in the same direction. Enclosed panels are veneered. This unit incorporates negative space to reduce the size impact, but allows for many optional configuration of units, as well as future possibilities. All cables are contained. Tradition joinery is used throughout, with the main timber in Cherry, and drawer fronts in Wenge.
