Having fostered the love of horses since a little girl and watching my mother carve all manner of sculptures, it was a small jump for me to pick up the tools of the trade and have a go myself... I wanted to represent the calm steadfast strength of the horse. He stands at approximately thirty cm tall, and is carved from laminated plywood. Mounted on a beautiful block of Japanese Red Cedar. Stained using brown Japan, then finished with wax.
