Having fostered the love of the horse since a little girl, and watching my mother carve all manner of sculptures, it was a small jump for me to pick up the tools of the trade and have a go myself... Here I wanted to represent the calm steadfast strength and beauty of the horse. He stands at approximately thirty cm tall, and is carved from laminated plywood. Mounted on a lovely block of Norfolk Island Pine. Stained using Black Japan, then sealed with wax.
