This is a keepsake box with a secret compartment in the knob to hold an engraved brass book with unforgettable memories to celebrate the 25th birthday. It is a surprise that creates another memorable moment once revealed. Other than aligning the square shape of the brass book, the knob and the box, I explored the possibilities of creating squares with the layout of finger joints, splines, arrangement of the medullary rays and end grain. 100 mini end grains formed the lid and the 25 book-matching end grain squares also signify the 25th birthday.
