The.Grand.Entrance. This one of a kind entrance door has been thoughtfully designed to show case elements of traditional construction, along with modern style and functionality. This 1200mm wide door has been hand crafted from recycled Douglas Fir, some of which has been in my collection for almost 30 years. We have incorporated Corten highlights accentuating and complimenting the arch and timber tones of this beautiful door. Square pinned, haunched mortise and tenon joints hold the main door structure together, whilst the individual internal panels and rails have been connected with mortise and tenon joints. Special attention was given to allowing the industrial recycled nature of this timber, along with a combination of a light stain, two coats of oil and wax to help bring out just the right amount of warmth and patina to the external face of the door. Whilst the internal face has been keep sharp, sleek and finished with whittle waxes Matte hard wax oil.
