Angela Bond, Tasmanian Specialty Timbers Chess Set (ART & OBJECTS 2023)

I hand crafted each component of this chess set; from turning and carving the playing pieces, to construction of the checker board - which incorporates a live edge frame and drawer to house and protect the playing pieces when not in use. The chess set features the following Tasmanian specialty timbers: - birdseye and whitebait figured Huon Pine; - chocolatey rich Blackwood; and - stunning live edge Myrtle burl.
