A slab of silver leaf maple was salvaged from a clients dying tree in their front yard. The natural defect found in the slab adds interesting character, and allowed highlighting the void by using quarter inch thick tempered glass to create an elegant and usable, coffee table surface. The slab sits on top of a highly figured and curly Claro walnut base, constructed using traditional mortise and tenon joinery.
