This stool blends traditional craftsmanship with digital precision. The curly maple legs are sculpted for strength and elegance, while the walnut seat, formed from bent-laminated slats that are CNC-carved with a tufted texture that transforms hardwood into the illusion of upholstery. Originally based on a design by Jesse Hale, I reinterpreted the piece to explore contrast: rigid wood that appears soft, classic forms shaped with modern tools, and collaborative inspiration reshaped into a unique voice. The result is a functional sculpture that bridges tradition and innovation
