This box made from Padauk, came from one single board. This bottom has been dadoed in. The top is a combination of curly maple(power carved) and some delicate work of attaching the top piece of padauk to the curly maple. Right where the lid separates from the body of the box, the corners have been embedded with splines of more curly maple. It was fun but very delicate work to pull this off.
