Music Bench Seat, The bench seat is made from Jacaranda and Red Gum slabs. The seat is constructed from 40mm Jacaranda with 5 x 10mm strips of Red gum laminated between the Jacaranda to represent a music sheet, the seat was secured to the frame using a single loose tenon joint in the centre on each side. The 5 backrest stays are jacaranda slotted on the table saw with a 3.2mm inlay of red gum and half lap joinery to attached them to the back post. The legs are made in red gum and shaped to represent a music note, joined using mortis and tenon with a half lap dovetail for the stretcher. The treble clef armrests are also red gum cut out on the bandsaw and router using a MDF template and attached using loose tenons. Finished in Organoil Hard Burnishing Oil before final assembly. Final dimensions 1400L x 500W x 900H.
