Austin Heitzman, Mountain Desk and Tower (WORLD 2021)

Country
USA

The client wanted a desk that he would never get tired of looking at "like a mountain", I utilized the live edge to resemble a distant mountain. In order to provide the storage he needed and not clutter the desk I created the accompanying tower. The piece is made from myrtle (Umbellularia californica), the tree exhibits a wide range of color and figure and I sought to source as many iterations as I could rather than use different woods. The legs are made of walnut for contrast.
