Cameron Veerhuis, Modular TV Cabinet (Student Awards 2017)
Date of making: Finished 5th August 2017 Materials Used: Radiata pine, cypress pine, merbau, plywood Dimensions: 688mm high, 1270mm long, 435mm wide Photos: Kha Nguyen I created a TV cabinet that is modular, being able to be setup in a range of combinations depending on a given scenario. It involves six key elements, a base and five stackable storage compartments. These include one cupboard with an adjustable shelf, one drawer on draw runners with a dovetail joint, two large shelved compartments with housing joints, and a small compartment. These are held together with merbau strips which have the same volume removed from the bottom of each compartment, allowing for functionality. It is designed to be practical, high quality, innovational, functional, modern and overall aesthetically pleasing. Cameron Veerhuis, Year 12, Glenwood High School. Teacher: Mr Burgmann
