Ronnie Rozenga, Marquetry Jay-bird Whiskey Cabinet (WORLD 2021)

Country
Netherlands

I made this marquetry Jay-bird whiskey cabinet out of cherry, beechwood and birdseye maple. The door and drawers are decorated with marquetry made out of various wood species. The marquetry is made by hand using the double bevel method . The veneer is shop-sawn and 3mm thick. The cabinet has purpleheart inlays on the curved sides and wenge inlays all around. The dotted corner inlay is made from wenge and maple. The drawers are made with half-blind, hand-cut dovetails. The knobs are woodturned out of purpleheart with a maple inlay.
