Machi no akari, city lights in English, is a decorative lamp inspired by Yasaka-no-to located in Kyoto city. This decorative lamp was created to represent the city during the day, light off, when we can see the buildings in more detail, and the city at night, light on, when we can basically see the profiles of the houses and the light passing through the windows. It is made of Cerejeira wood recycled from parts of an old chair, the depth effect of the piece was created merging wood carving and pyrography techniques. Futhermore, for the windows details, a kumiko like work was executed.
