The shelf resembles Ganga, the winding river. The cabinet is the body, still and in meditation. The doors are the heart which must open in order to find the soul within. The soul is the treasure that will be placed inside. The bottom drawers represent the lower, material nature of man - more easily accessible, holding practical items. The still body in meditation as a cabinet and the ever-flowing river shelf appearing as separate physiological phenomenon are in essence one in the spirit. What is without is within. This cabinet was built shortly after a yoga and meditation retreat into the lower Himalayas. It is a self-portrait of the maker, in meditation on the banks of Mother Ganga.
