The jatoba wood came from flooring that to be torn up and thrown out as part of a kitchen renovation I was working on. Once the nails, staples, tongue and groove and finish were removed, the challenge was how to use a large pile of wood that is thin and narrow. This table is one of the results. The top is shop-sawn, book-matched veneer on a torsion box. The legs are mitred at the corners to get thickness and attached to the top with “french dowels” (threaded rod and epoxy). Materials: jatoba, secondary woods. Dimensions: 1020mm x 1020mm x 455mm.
