Hope & Resignation is an art/cabinetry piece meant to be a visual reminder of those two very feelings. Upon opening the larger cabinet (Hope) I wanted to reveal a warmth and brightness that was initially unexpected. The smaller cabinet (Resignation) is conversely dark and knotted, featuring a charred panel of ash inside, and can be used to burn incense. Carcasses in American Ash and locally grown Blackwood. Veneers in European Beech. Details in Rimu, Sapele, and mild steel. Finished with oil and wax.
