‘Hide and Seek’ is a series of ambient lighting, designed with angled slats that create an asymmetric light distribution while always keeping the light source hidden from sight. The light evokes curiosity and invites for a closer look. The foot of the lamp is made of walnut and the 2mm thin pine slats allow for a warm and natural light to glow through them. The materials in combination with the symmetrical geometry create an organic and calm atmosphere in the room. These lamps have been designed and built by myself, Kara Ghasemiani. I am a student at the renowned school of crafts and design Capellagården, in Öland, Sweden, where I’m studying furniture carpentry.
