This minibar sideboard embodies expertise, complex joinery, and myself as a cabinet. The American walnut carcass is mitred, to achieve a seamless flow in grain character and a crisp geometric attraction. The American cherry leg frame, has a through mortise and tenon that resembles my inlay pattern, secured with walnut wedges for load-bearing resilience and discreet aesthetics. The legs taper subtly, providing structural grace without compromising any integrity. The doors are eminent due to intricate inlays of American walnut, red gum, and New Zealand beech, that create a striking yet balanced centrepiece that brings flair my work. Lathe-spun asymmetrically positioned doorknobs reinforce my utilization of accent timber, offering material consistency. Internally, my joinery is equally considered: a dovetailed display box with mirrored backing, a bottom spanning push-to-open drawer that keeps grain flow, a rebated drawer with a walnut handle and a through-housing bottle rack. The shelves are locked in accurately with stopped housing joints, ensuring foundational longevity. The back panel is stained with black Japan, providing a tonal difference and enhancing the warmth of my cherry and walnut combination. My work interweaves advanced woodworking techniques with a grounded sense of proportions and composition dynamics.
