My works were inspired by repetitive patterns from nature and manmade objects, driven by an exploration of forms in the creation of each piece. I'm focusing on experimentation with different types of repetition and progressions through different woodworking techniques to create a body of work that shares my feelings, my memories, my life experiences, and conversations with the audience. This series of works explored and integrated kerf cutting and combined it with steam bending. Most people perceive a table saw as a robust, rigid machine that can only do heavy and inflexible work. My objective was to challenge the audience's perception of this idea by using this technique to create small, delicate, and fluid works. All the kerf pieces have been cut on a tablesaw and free-formed steam-bent to reinforce the pieces. This series uses walnut, ash, white oak, and teak.
