I believe a chair is the most intimate piece of furniture. Unlike a bookcase or table, a chair is in constant contact with your body. Its proportions mirror your own, offering support, comfort, and welcome. The "Eva" armchair is rooted in the Windsor tradition, with a solid wood seat joined to all other elements, but I use this form as a framework for exploration rather than reproduction. I pursue flowing lines, visual tension, and sculpted details. Flexible steam bent spindles provide support, while an innovative aluminum plate construction allows me to eliminate stretchers and refine the leg to seat transition. Every detail is intentional, from rounded spindle ends that invite touch to carved textures beneath the handholds. By blending traditional handwork with modern engineering, I aim to honor the history of chairmaking while pushing it forward, creating chairs that are not only functional seating, but objects of connection. The "Eva" chair is made from black cherry and ash wood, aluminum and steel. It's finished with hard oil wax
