Lamp made of driftwood, round reed (used for basket weaving), and paper made from the bark of mulberry trees. The lampshade is attached to the lamp base with artificial sinew. The driftwood was found while beachcombing the shores of a local lake. Unlike most of my woodworking pieces, rather than creating a formal set of plans and sticking to them throughout the project, I let the materials decide for me how they were going to look and interact with each other.
