Iai Taupeamuhu, Curved Top Jewellery Box (Student Awards 2017)

The Curved Top Jewellery Box was made from Tasmanian blackwood and incorporated curved surfaces on the top, handles and side rails which added significant difficulty to the project. The legs were joined to the rails using mortise and tenon joints and the drawers were both constructed using dovetail joints. Two mitred sliding boxes feature inside the top section.
