Tapered dovetailed curiosity box made from ash and walnut, with a frame & panel top & bottom. Inspired by the collecting of small, interesting “curious” treasures. The front of the box has a routered 2mm semi-circular profile which I then ebonised to create contrast. A thin strip of walnut inlay wraps around the centre of the box - including through the wooden hinge - adding a band of warmer colour and detail. Inside, a piston-fit walnut slip mitred together with wenge splines can be lifted out to store secret treasures beneath.  Dimensions: 280mm x 165mm x 155mm
