76"x44"x5" Scraps of White Oak, Padouk, Mahogany, Eastern Hard Maple, Cherry, Madrona, Walnut, Ash, Bubinga, and European Beech This wall-hanging sculpture was made of scrap wood from ten different species from around the world. The joinery of these diverse species in an interconnected loop conveys a theme of unity. The title, "Coppice," references the form--a wreathe of pruned branches--which speaks to another core theme: the endless rebirth and regeneration of trees in the natural world and in wood shops across the globe.
