Where Light Touches Form This lighting series explores the dialogue between form, material, and atmosphere through a trio of wall-mounted lamps crafted from steam-bent oak and precision-machined components. Designed for public interiors—such as restaurants, bars, or galleries—these pieces treat light not merely as illumination, but as a spatial and compositional element. The central and largest piece examines how oak behaves when bent at a large radius, and how geometry, contrast, and scale influence spatial presence. Its wide, circular oak ring—steam-bent to a diameter of 1100 mm—frames two still, blackened wooden discs that appear to float, shaped using a combination of machine milling and traditional woodturning techniques. A black oil finish accentuates the wood grain while reducing visual weight, creating a refined interplay of mass and lightness. Controlled by Arduino and equipped with an addressable RGB LED strip, this lamp invites playful interaction through programmable color modes—including sound-reactive settings for music-rich environments. The two complementary wall lights extend the visual language introduced by the main piece. These smaller forms add rhythm, balance, and spatial variation. Each features a tightly bent oak curve that highlights the material’s natural tension and elasticity. A blackened disc floats within each arc—its position freely adjustable by the user, encouraging individual expression and spatial adaptation. The lights can be mounted either vertically or horizontally, enabling mirrored, sequential, or asymmetrical arrangements. Together, the three elements form a cohesive system that merges traditional craftsmanship with interactive technology. They explore how material, form, and light can converge into a unified architectural presence—one that not only responds to but also defines the atmosphere of a space.
