My Bathroom Vanity is crafted from Native Australian timber, Tasmanian Oak and Blackwood, showcasing a sleek contemporary design. It features framed doors and drawers with geometric detailing representing the old timber pier at Catherine Hill Bay, NSW, a mortise and tenon towel rack, and a brass plate that I have inlayed and bent as the back panel framing the basin and tapware. The Backboard includes blackwood pillers, with a sliding half-dovetail shelf. The design of the Legs was inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh furniture, who worked in a similar era to the age of the house the bathroom vanity will eventually sit in. The piece highlights clean lines, refined joinery, and the natural contrast of the timbers, creating a functional yet striking statement for a modern bathroom within a historical setting.
