A large fleet of sailing vessels will grace the River Derwent in Tasmania in February 2023 for the opening event, Parade of Sail, for the iconic Australian Wooden Boat Festival (AWBF).

Join tall ships Soren Larsen, One & All, James Craig, Windeward Bound, Lady Nelson and hundreds of spectacular local and interstate wooden boats for the four-day event held in Hobart 10–13 February 2023.

Classic and modern wooden boats upwards of 500 in numbers are berthed in every nook and cranny, on land and shore to create a wonderland for nautical nerds and newbies alike.

Programs set for 2023 include the Shipwright’s Village, Noisy Boatyard Workshops, Wooden Boat Symposium, Tasmanian Seafood Kitchen with popular chefs, free live entertainment including Mikelangelo and Van Diemen’s Band and more. The Summer festival also hosts over 80 commercial exhibitors and over 50 Tassie food and beverage stalls to feed the masses.

After what will be four years since a festival organisers are excited to be welcoming back over 200,000 attendees and showcasing the best Tasmania has to offer.
