29 October – 8 November 2015
Rylstone Showground, Cudgegong Street, Rylstone NSW 2848
Daily: 9am- 5pm
In just a few days’ time, Rylstone plays host to the inaugural RSI Wood Sculpture Symposium 2015.
Nine home-grown and international artists will be in the village of Rylstone for 10 days from the end of October. These sculptors will work on nine hardwood logs in an outdoor studio in the Rylstone Showground.
Together they will bring forth their sculptural visions for all to see. Come and engage with them while they saw, grind, sand and polish their works.
The organisers are delighted to welcome International artist Ana Paula Luna to our shores and to the small but beautiful community of Rylstone.
So who is Ana Paula? Ana is a career artist and the Cultural Director of Guadalajara University, Mexico. She is also a chainsaw-wielding goddess of the International symposium circuit who has exhibited around the Globe on five continents—Australia will complete her deck!
She is flying in with Day of the Dead goodies in her luggage because she wants to have fun with the locals at Hallowe’en—but she is also packing her trusty electric Stihl chainsaw to get seriously busy over ten fierce days of wood sculpting.
Ana Paula Luna comes straight off the back of the Primer Simposio Internacional de Escultura en Madera, in the Mexican state of Chihuahua.
The RSI Wood Symposium 2015 is free to attend between 9am and 5pm on any day from 29 October to 8 November!
