This year i really wanted to challenge my knowledge by producing an entertainment unit. This unit is made out of Tasmanian oak to give that natural grain feel. It features 2 doors with adjustable shelving and also provides console storage with two central shelves. This unit gives the effect that the top is floating above the rest of the unit. This unit took a while to produce because of the size of timber i was dealing with.I used many known methods as: biscuit joiner, butt joiner, dowel joints on internal walls and mitre joints on corners. Most of my my component were run through the thicknesser. i finished my unit with Cabot's Cabothane clear Oil Based Polyurethane.
I would also like to mention my teacher Chris McConnell to thank him for helping me along the way – he is an amazing teacher.
