Triton comes back to Australian ownership with Timbecon
Melbourne, Australia — Timbecon has acquired global woodworking brand Triton Tools, marking its return to Australian ownership and the beginning of its next phase of global development.
Founded in Australia in 1976, Triton built its reputation on practical innovation and a deep understanding of woodworker’s needs. Under Timbecon’s ownership, the brand will continue to evolve with a focus on product development, supply chain strength, and closer engagement with woodworkers worldwide.
Timbecon brings over 35 years of experience serving the woodworking community, along with a track record of developing and managing brands including Sherwood, Torquata, and Melbourne Tool Company.
“We see Triton as a brand with a strong legacy and a clear future,” said Hague Haswell, Managing Director of Timbecon. “It was built on a deep understanding of woodworkers, and that’s exactly where we come from. Our role is to build on that foundation and continue investing in the areas that matter most.”
The transition follows recent changes in Triton’s previous ownership, with Timbecon building on the foundation established through years of global brand development.
Industry Positioning: As consolidation continues across the global tool industry, Triton’s return to ownership by a specialist woodworking company reflects a shift toward category-focused stewardship. In-house product development combined with regionally aligned distribution partners will better serve local markets.
Availability: Triton products are currently available across Europe. In the United States, part of the range is available now, with the full line-up expected by fall.
In Australia, selected products will return from May, with a full relaunch scheduled for August–September. The United Kingdom will follow with a phased rollout between September and December.
