THE WINNERS! Maker of the Year 2025
Finally...we’re thrilled to announce the award winners for Maker of the Year 2025 presented by Carbatec! With well over 400 entries (a new record!) from 44 countries around the globe we’re proud to shine a light on fine woodworking and wood art.
All entries can be seen at www.woodreview.com.au, and our TOP 100 entries are now published in the December issue of Australian Wood Review, out now in newsagents and on its way to subscribers in Australia and New Zealand. Elsewhere in the world, the digital edition is available here.
Thanks go to our incredible judging team who have applied their all-round expertise and passion to judging the award winners named below. We thank our highly valued sponsors Carbatec, American Export Hardwood Council, Felder Australia, Fiddes Australia and Whittle Waxes for supporting the awards with their industry presence and generous $19,500 prize pool.
In this year’s format, awards have been made within and across three categories: Furniture, Art & Objects and Student. Two awards were made across all categories (Recycled & Rescued and the Jan Pennell Woodturning Award). The prizes offered are listed here.
We hope you will include your work in next year’s online showcase when Maker of the Year opens for entry in March 2026. Register for our news and competition updates in our fortnightly enewsletters here.
And now it's time to congratulate the award winners!
