Morten Gronning is a graduate of design engineering at the Royal College of Art, London who is giving a new meaning to the concept of hand sanding by fitting gloves with small motorised sanders. His aim is to facilitate the smoothing of organic shapes in hard materials such as stone and wood. In the video he shows how he is developing the design through a series of prototypes. For an artisan it’s a way of getting close to your material, in fact, says Gronning, ‘you could almost not get any closer’.
