For Sydney hand tool aficionados The Traditional Tools Group’s Sydney Tool Sale Feb 23 is the once-a-year barn-storming event to anticipate and save cash for. With only five hours to raid over 60 loaded tables queues formed before the 9am signal to charge was given.

Over 420 visitors were rewarded with a huge selection of rarities and bargains to choose from. Vendors reported a good level of sales.

TTTG is a non-profit organization devoted to the study, conservation, collection and otherwise worship of tools of many trades. The group has just secured a home at historical Brush Farm House where its library and part of its collection will be housed.

From April the group will hold its program of workshops at that location. One of the group’s long term aims is to establish a working museum before old skills are lost.

The next Tool Sale is scheduled for February 22, 2015 and will also take place at The Brick Pit, Thornleigh — don’t miss it. See www.tttg.org.au for more info.
