Sturt has an illustrious history, a place of rich ferment for Australian craft and design, which now spans 80 years. Over those decades, legions of people have gathered in Mittagong, NSW to learn, appreciate and share skills in wood, ceramics, metal, fibre, pen, pastel and paint. That history is currently presented as Sturt – 80 Years in the Making: celebrating the legends and treasures of Sturt.

The exhibition opens in the Sturt Gallery when lockdown lifts and runs until 14 November. For a glimpse, see an online walk-around tour of the exhibition here.

Dreaming on to the New Year, it is also possible to find out about and book in for 18 adult workshops and five children’s day workshops on offer at Sturt Summer School, January 5–9, 2022. Learn more here
