American walnut, American walnut veneer, American white oak
760 x 530 x 700mm

I made this entertainment cabinet for a television, DVD player and playstation to go in my room. It was constructed out of exotic species of timbers and manufactured with the use of a number of timber joints including mortise and tenon, rebate, mitre, dovetail, widening and biscuit joints. I tried to combine traditional and contemporary methods into my project by using the chisel to cut the rebates for the door hinges and particleboard for the plinth for my project. I also used American walnut veneer to increase the aesthetics of my project. I also used a wide range of different machinery and also used a two pack polyurethane finish which was applied with the use of an air spray gun. Overall the construction was fantastic which resulted in me receiving a band 6.
