Melbourne is the birthplace of Australia’s Timber & Working Wood Shows and come October 24, wood and woodworking aficionados will again flock to its annual congregation sites.
The Melbourne Show has shifted locations over the years since it was first held in the last century, 1988 to be exact. Twenty-six years later, the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, Clarendon St, Southbank is the place to be to see the latest in hand and power tools, machinery, related products and processes.
More than that, the wood shows are where woodworkers of all kinds get together, catch up, chew the fat, and check out what’s going in the world of wood. You can also find ongoing networks through mens’ shed associations, wood clubs and forums as well as information about where to learn woodwork.
The wood show is a great place to buy select craft timbers and turning and carving blanks, and witness portable milling demonstrations. Other demonstrations will run on set programs, such as those by expert woodturners Vic Wood, Ken Wraight, Guilio Marcolongo and Bruce Talbot.
And last but not least, please come and say hello to us on the Wood Review stand! We're looking forward to meeting you and we have a great show special to offer! The photos shown here are from the Sydney show in June and are just to get you in the mood.
Tickets may be purchased at the show, or gain express entry by buying your ticket online Note: Club Woody members also receive a discount, see info here
