Pedal car build is a great project to do with and for the kids

Here’s an idea for a great workshop project to undertake with and for the kids. Making a 1927 Chevrolet pedal car is an in-depth project that will challenge you with a wide range of skills to learn, employ and enjoy.

‘Flat Bed Felix’ comes in an extensive and comprehensive kit of steel lengths and components with full plans. Wood parts are not included in the kit. The build is supported on a dedicated Hare & Forbes site with links to an equally comprehensive series of progressive build videos led by expert metal and wood workers.

Hare & Forbes Machineryhouse is a fourth-generation family business which draws on a 95-year tradition of service and innovation. The functioning pedal car is named after and modelled on the iconic 1926 Chev truck first purchased as a delivery vehicle by Tom Hare in 1937.

In 2020, Hare & Forbes celebrated its 90th anniversary with the purchase of an original 1926 Chev truck that was subsequently restored. The video below is an introduction to the build project.
