My intent was to make an acoustic, wooden guitar. My motivation for choosing this project is my need for a high quality guitar, and the excitement of designing, constructing and managing the construction of such a complex instrument.
This guitar sports six steel strings to create a great guitar tone, with optimal levels of treble and bass. I wanted it to be lightweight, and in a traditional shape that allows me to play notes that are closer to the soundboard easily. I also wanted to use a timber with a high contrast in colour for the back and sides, due to its grain texture, over which I applied a gloss finish. It has distinctive features along the neck with different patterns. It also has complimentary patterns on the rosette and bindings to add extra appeal to the guitar.
