Are you a film maker? Or a maker of another kind? If you're one or the other, or both, you have until November 30 to submit your short film to the Makers' Film Festival and be in the running for the People's Choice Award of $1000 from Maker & Smith.

The Makers Film Festival in 2021 aims to screen films that spotlight the stories of (and by) makers from around the Indian Ocean, including Australia and New Zealand. The unique compilation will display a breadth of practice that highlights the integral role of craft in all our lives, no matter where we live, e.g. traditional and contemporary craft, studio-based designer makers' practice, community and social enterprises, music videos that employ hand-crafted animation...

The Makers' Film Festival (MFF) will premiere in Perth in May 2021, coinciding with the launch of the IOTA21 program - the first rendition of the Indian Ocean Craft Triennial, before touring Australia and overseas.

Films of less than 15 minutes made after 1 January 2017 can be submitted with a Vimeo or YouTube link with a short description and $50 fee.
