The large panels of the wine cabinet were constructed with widening joints as they were not economical to purchase at the large size. The carcase consists of four outer framework pieces. It includes domino and box joints, resulting in larger side panels.
For the drawer, dovetail joints were used, being the strongest joint to use, and housing joints were used for shelving. The drawer front consists of inlay techniques to highlight the component and drawer knob. The door showcases half lapped mitre joints, supporting the weight of the door. All techniques, including the plinth, incorporated into the carcase allows for strength, durability and constructing an efficient, high quality project. The components added uniquely and aesthetically give the project its finished appeal to function as intended. Additionally, the applying a range of techniques and processes within the project allowed me to showcase my attained skills and apt ability in woodwork.
