Hand tool event and open day at Dunstone Design

Open days and hand tool events are not a new thing to take place at Evan Dunstone's workshop in Queanbeyan. This year's event will be different however. Having recently taken over the distribution of Lie Nielsen hand tools in Australia, the Dunstone Design workshop is now that US company’s physical and online home in Australia. Company representative Curtis Turner will fly in from the US for the event and be available to demonstrate and discuss Lie Nielsen tools.

In addition, the Dunstone Design event will feature demonstrations and displays by local toolmakers Terry Gordon, Colen Clenton, Ben Adams, Devon Campbell (Ironbark tools). Offerings will also be available from The Wood Tamer (greenwood and specialty carving tools) and Hardware for Creative Finishes (hardware, abrasives and finishes). Master carver Hape Kiddle will be there with his carvings, sculptures and advice for carvers of all levels. Dunstone Design’s staff will also be on hand to offer advice.

The event takes place 10am–4pm, Sunday 18 October 2026 at 3/5 Aurora Place, Queanbeyan, NSW. Free parking is available however you need to book a $10 ticket via the Dunstone Design website.
