“Alastair can never say ‘no’ to a tree that has been felled, and now he has too much milled timber,” says Jacqueline Boell. “I'm convinced he was a 'tree' in his past life.”

The upshot of this situation is the impending ‘timber sale’ which will take place Saturday 27 June at the premises of the woodworking school which Alastair and Jacqueline Boell run at 14 Cottage Street, Blackburn.

Alastair Boell is a master craftsman who has also spent decades accumulating, air drying and finish milling a range of natives and exotics. Much of the timber on offer has been salvaged: ‘These are beautiful woods saved from the chipper; lovingly milled, and now ready to be made into beautiful furniture,’ said Alastair.

All proceeds from the timber sale go directly towards supporting the school. ‘We understand how important it is to keep the school going, especially at a time when life is tough for many. What we’ve built here is not only about woodworking, it’s a place where people come to spend time, connect, and enjoy being part of something special’, said Jacqueline Boell.

The sale will offer a 25% discount on all timber on that one day only from 10am – 5pm. Timber must be taken on the day of the sale or delivery organised.
